Equipment Operator III

Participate as a crew member in well site and rig up/rig down operations. This position will operate a company vehicle on a daily basis between the district and work site to deliver products, service tools, and equipment. This position will also operate designated equipment as assigned by the Service Supervisor.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Catalyst
  • Ability to verbally communicate and understand details and directions
  • Responsible for the safe operation of assigned equipment on all locations, this includes driving, fueling all units, as well as insuring the units have the correct supply loaded for the next day of work
  • Performs equipment rig up, rig down, and should be proficient in operating Frac Pumps, Crane Rigging, Diesel Trailer, Acid Unit, Missile (Line Boss) and auxiliary equipment such as; stake bed, acid transport, and sand kings
  • Must learn to be proficient in operating the Blender, Hydration Unit, and Data Van
  • Has the responsibility for fluid blending systems operations and management of chemical inventory at well site
  • Perform all Pre/Post job maintenance duties and reports
  • Properly maintain Driver DOT Logs
  • Assist the crew with regularly performed maintenance on all related equipment
  • Ability to learn to operate different types of equipment and support well site activity
  • Ability to maintain condition of treating iron
  • Ability to learn to operate auxiliary equipment: stake bed, acid transport and sand truck
  • Ability to learn to operate different types of equipment and support well site activity

  • Perform duties according to documented Standard Operating Practices and comply with all requirements and work place instructions
  • Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and complies with all applicable health, safety and environmental procedures and regulations
  • Perform various other duties assigned by the Service Supervisor

Competency Requirements:

  • Experience must be 3-6 months as EO-II
  • H2S certification
  • Valid Class A driver’s license with HAZMAT
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge
  • Must have completed all competency from EO-I and EO-II
  • Crane trained and other qualifications as required
  • 1-2 years Fracturing experience in a service company
  • Reading comprehension and writing skills
  • The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations

Physical Job Demands

  • Ability to work a “24 hour on call” rotational schedule is required and maintain an active phone
  • Ability to work flexible work schedule, including long and/or irregular hours and nights and weekends
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when applicable
  • Required to travel to job sites for a week or more at a time in a designated area
  • Must have efficient eye-hand coordination. Must have good depth perception, peripheral vision, ability to see and differentiate colors, and a minimum of average hearing
  • This job will require occasional bending, squatting, climbing, twisting, and reaching
  • Must be able to perform physical labor involving frequent lifting (over 50 lbs.), carrying, bending, and shoveling
  • Job may include stand/walk 6-8 hours, sitting 6-8 hours, driving 1-4 hours
  • Work environment with chemicals, fumes/gasses, noxious odors, heights, noise, radiation, and exposure to weather conditions such as cold, rain/dampness, heat/humidity, and wind
  • Repetitive motions of simple grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling, finger dexterity, foot movement
